Starting off 2020 with one of my favorites from the first Undertones album from 1979. Such a key record for the genre and always in constant rotation. I'm also a big fan of song titles with parenthesis, so this worked on numerous levels.

Much like the previous Vindictives cover, I had to adjust the key on this one to actually be able to sing it. Unfortunately I discover these things after I've already laid down the backing tracks. :-(

The lead guitar melody always reminded me of the saxophone intro from The Dickies "Where Did His Eye Go?," and to bring the two together in my head I decided to change the part to be brass instruments. Looking back, I wonder if I could have played the Dickies part entirely in it's place just for fun.

Throw in some three-part harmonies on the last verse/chorus, attempt to get a mix off of the iPad itself (1. since my computer shit the bed, and 2. yes, it still sounds like crap), and here it is.

I also thought it was funny to alter the lobster cover from 'The Very Best of" collection - it always made me laugh for some reason.
